The Deal.

I Shop. Way. Too. Much. I have three jobs to support my habit , and yet, Im always broke. So to save money for upcoming College Applications , I have decided to cease all shopping after the first day of my senior year of High School until December 1st (with an exception for Black Friday) . I'll upload a daily picture of my outfit. The rules? No re-wearing an outfit. Simple, yet extremely Hard. Can I do it? Is my present wardrobe big enough? Lets hope So ... Because In Shopping Rehab, the only place I can shop is in my own wardrobe ...

Progress Report

So Far this year, I haven't bought ANY new clothes, shoes, purses, etc. The only new clothing items i got were bought by my grandmother, and it was my homecoming dress, homecoming heels, and a new strapless bra for said dress.

It should also be known that i won the Homecoming Queen title at my high school. :D

However , i REALLY cant wait to go shopping. I miss buying clothes... ALOT.

New Shoes

Yesterday I went shopping in the pouring rain, and came out victorious (and drenched). I bought 4 shirts, 3 pairs of heels, a pair of sandals, and a make-up bag. I also paid on my layaway at a favorite store of mine. The shoe store I went to had a deal on their shoes : 3 Shoes for 52.99. :) Plus, its TAX FREE WEEKEND so I felt quite lucky!

The heels on these are 5 inches, but the platform makes them easy to walk in, I promise!

I also got a pair of all black slingbacks, just like the leopard print ones. The heel on those are 5 1/2 inches, but the extremely high platform makes them super comfy.  Good Deals, No? Also, 19 Days until my senior year... and no shopping..

Fashion Haul : Recent Buys

Animal Print Flats .... Yummy! Made just for my Skinny Jeans and my LBD.
These Platform Black Heels are 4 1/2 inches... and so comfy to walk in. They were $23 at Rack Room Shoes.! Not to mention, they are great for the remainder of Summer, beginning of September. Ill break these babies back out in the Spring.
These bracelets are like eye candy... they were $8 at Rue21. I love these... they were an impulse buy, but I will wear these with lots of outfits.
This is a brooch I got from Icing for $2. I love it because it will add unexpected edge and sophistication to my basic ruffle shirts.

My Closet Basics

Now, I've Compiled a List of my 5 Closet Basics.
  1. Tights - Can go under dresses, Oversize Shirts, and Skirts. These can give any outfit an edge, especially if they have patterns or appliques. I currently own tights in the following : Sheer Black, Opaque Black, Animal Print, Lace, Pink, Blue, Baby Pink, Fishnet, Floral, and others.
  2. Mini Skirt - These are classic. They can be dressed up or down, be appropriate or inappropriate, and tend to be dirt cheap.
  3. Bad Ass Heels - I collect heels and I abhor sneakers. Heels can be worn, literally, with ANYTHING. Plus, they're just so damned sexy.
  4. Dark Blue Skinny Jeans - Classics. I love them because they can be worn out or to school, with a button down or a halter top. So versatile! My biggest issue is finding the perfect pair before my shopping deadline is up.
  5. Black Cardigan - Ahh, the Cardigan. How much do I love thee? Let me count the ways... No, seriously, Cardigans in any color, especially black, are a wardrobe must because they add warmth, comfort, and a level or appropriateness to that tube top you have lying in the back of your closet.

23 Shopping Days Left

My senior year starts on August 25th. I have 23 days left to buy up everything within a 30 mile radius. Because after August 25th, i am not allowed to buy any clothes, shoes, purses, or accessories. Yes, Call me Crazy. I wont spend a dime of my own money on my wardrobe until December 1st, except for the Black Friday Sale. (I may be crazy, but not that crazy) . My shopping Rehab will then promptly start all over again on January 2nd, except for my birthday on January 26th, until June 14th. Tough. All money will be saved for the following :
  1. Fill Ins and Hair Appointments (My Acrylic Nails are a Priority, And My Hair? Constantly Changing)
  2. College Applications. Im applying to 7 schools... and those suckers are NOT cheap.
  3. A Car. Nough Said.
  4. College, In General. I need my Savings account to be nice and fluffy.
I have two regular jobs, and one irregular one, so basically, 3 paychecks to keep my savings and checkings accounts fluffy. As August 25th rapidly approaches, Ive been trying my best to stock up on things I'll need. Ive bought tights in all sorts of colors, skirts , jeans, shoes, purses, jewelry. No object is being spared. Im not used to rewearing clothes alot. Im used to buying clothes whenever I need new ones. This project, experiment, pre-midlife crisis, or whatever you want to call it, is to show that I can rewear clothes in my own closet and still look adorable, fresh, and stylish. Im trying to convince myself, as well as you guys. -__- Wish me Luck.

Ive noticed that my wardrobe will have to take me into two different seasons : Summer and Fall. Charlotte, which is where Im from, gets cold around October. Burr.
